I'd agree. Grohl is a talented guy but if I was making a case for how mainstream rock became boring as fuck then Foo Fighters would definitely be one of the exhibits. They're like a lazy marketing team's idea of what the genre should be.

If you're going through the albums you can stop at There's Nothing Left To Lose. They're all garbage after that.
That's a good point: while both films deal with a character coming to terms with their crime, Lynch doesn't empathize with Pullman's character much at all.
Lost Highway is really underrated. It's a great companion piece to Mulholland Drive.
I'm a Lynch nut, but it never quite clicks for me other than some standout scenes. It feels a lot more self-conscious than his better work. I'd love Cage and Lynch to work together again though.
Stop calling America the 'free world'. It's not that all-encompassing.
At the time he annoyed the hell out of me. But, call it mindless nostalgia or finally seeing the bigger picture, I realise now he had a hell of a lot more personality and talent than most big acts today. 'Angels' is one of the best songs Paul McCartney never wrote.
I always disliked the 'Deckard is a replicant' interpretation. I know Scott has said that's what he was going for, but if the film isn't about a human learning what it is to be human then what's the damn point?
Welcome to a world where this is happening because virtually every other blockbuster is a superhero movie. As a pop culture writer you take whatever scraps you can get.
The problem being…?
If this isn't great, we at least know it had the best possible team behind it trying their damned best. If these guys couldn't do it, no-one could. I remain in 'quietly confident' mode.
Despite what the internet says, I promise you're not missing much.
I'm say The Force Awakens was a very safe success, while Rogue One was a daring failure, but I can't. Even call it 'daring' feels charitable. The characters were SO bad, as the video above makes clear. It's a heist movie that never has the guts to just be a heist movie.
I imagine a decade and a half in even Albarn's not that bothered about the concept. At this point it's an opportunity for some whacky videos and artwork, and not much else.
Smashing Pumpkins — Ava Adore
Red Hot Chili Peppers — Scar Tissue
Greenday — …..
Holy shit, someone actually likes Blow.
Agreed on Sufjan Stevens. Perhaps the most humorless, earnest-to-a-fault person to have ever released music, but when he's on form he kills it.
Nah, Jurassic World's problem is that it doesn't even work as a throwaway good time at the cinema. Bad characters, weird direction and editing choices, distracting CGI moments and tonal incongruities abound.
That video makes me hate the fight even more.
I remember walking around Sydney years ago and sitting on a fountain for a break, and suddenly realizing it was the same fountain in the scene where Neo passes the woman in the red dress. 'Neat', I thought to myself, then moved on.
