I think you hit the nail on the head. Although I don't like the notion that silence implies consent (even though it's often perceived that way), I agree that the studio or any upper management for that matter, should have stepped in. Maybe they did privately. Maybe like you pointed out, no one really had time to

Marketing as in sending used condoms to people or actual marketing?

Truth. I'm loving these answers to the trolls question lol.

I've already replied to similar comments here, better phrased at that. My only reply is that it can either feminist or not, or neither, or somewhere in between lol.

I didn't say anything about "having to brush" anything off. Just that it sounds like it's what happened. I merely pointed out that you went from media lauding to studio not condemning (and you just added "encouraged"). At least get your own point straight so I know what I'm "arguing" with. I actually agree with you

A very Harley Quinn thing to do. It's all meticulous and by design. I'm not going to say they didn't go overboard, but it fits her character. Psychotic killer, knows how to use what she's got to her advantage.

You can certainly make that argument, but this article seems to have missed that point to a degree as well. She showed a bit of leg here or extra skin there. You can always have both and it's not a problem either. Especially in the case of Harley Quinn, who's character exudes both.

I see what you did there…

Well put! And I'd add that it's not just men she disarms lol.

He's still breathing, so… no.

He left that up to Burgess Meredith.

And sometimes the ones who agree with you. Because fuck that too!

I don't want any trolls. But how right you are…

Yeah, you most definitely read way too much into this. Sorry you wasted your time. I only mentioned my I own thought on the actual film (very briefly at that) to prove a point. And then continued on about my dislike of critics. Specifically today, where it's become more of a herd mentality than the artistic merit

That's an unnecessary comment for this discussion. No one is denying that women have it harder than men in Hollywood in that respect. What I meant by opposite is that a woman can get a job and not have to automatically demeaning or objectifying. A woman showing skin in a role can be just as benign as woman fully

He wasn't exactly there for that long. I imagine that if it happened it was within a short enough time and mostly relatively harmless. Also, unless you've been in it, who's to say what effed up things actors do to get into character that because they're who they are get a lot more leeway than you or I in our "normal"

You too! Nice chat! Back to real life lol…

You're contradicting your original statement now. You went from they "lauded" him to they "didn't have him committed" lol. Fact is no one liked it. They may have brushed it off this time, but no doubt they'll have something in their contracts if he reprises the role in the future. I would.

In this movie, I took it as a tactic. She had a choice and chose that. Fitting of her histrionic personality. (I'm not denying the eye-candy aspect for 12 to 107 male demo, but from a character standpoint it's far more deep-seated than that.)

Oh, this isn't the first time I've discussed sexualization of women in movies. Usually it's the Michael Bay type movie with a skimpy Megan Fox (which is part of why I mentioned her in the previous post). Though even she has strong moments beyond her
body in Transformers. And what these girls wear is true to real life
