That scene was fantastic and probably my favorite in the show. I love classic-vaudevillian type scenes, where people argue with each other, misinterpret each other, go on bizarre tangents, etc. They nailed it here.

To be fair, Phineas and Ferb is (was?) musically on point too (in mixing visuals with its musical cues), and while I'm not a super-fan of it, MLP can kinda do it. Most cartoons today just aren't interested in music at all.

Then she gets an audio text alert, because this show doesn't even care and I love it.

I am convinced this originally was a spec script for Community at some point.

I'm so glad Ward called her (and everyone else) out on their shit. "We'd kill everyone but not Skye!" Bullshit. Loved that scene.

Seriously. The "cutaway before a curse word" bit has been done to death in almost every cartoon ever. Let's not pretend Gravity Falls is super-edgy here.

Super glad to see coverage, as well as seeing 335 comments here as of posting.

To be fair, it was a TV show, where mythology thrives better. But then again it wasn't called "mythology" back then. It was just did what decent TV was supposed to do.

What makes Gumball both fascinating and tricky (well, one of the many things) is that it's not quite beholden to continuity as other shows, a concept which is inherent to the very structure of the world. (There's no lingering effects after the events of "The Joy," for example.) It's a show that demands accepting its

I only just recently caught your break downs and I love, love, love them.

I kinda made that unclear, but I did indeed finish the sixth season as well.

Darth Maul (SPOILERS) actually comes back in Clone Wars. His return was pretty awesome, but they actually never managed to do anything with it in the long run.

Oh, I agree. I was more discussing the fact that (SPOILERS) that Nilin was mixed race, and how her search for her identity kinda reflected the tricky bridge that a lot of mixed-raced people tend to have when growing up. I thought a lot of the visuals (particularly the cutscenes of her walking in memory-limbo) were, at

Remember Me isn't perfect (it's nigh impossible to keep longer combos going later in the game), but there's a lot to like about it, and if it was a tighter game, we'd be talking a lot about its (VAGUE VAGUE VAGUE SPOILERS) social and racial ramifications, as related to identity.

Science-fantasy was kind of a boom for kids animation in the mid-80s because it could provide the hero with sword, a safer weapon than a gun or pistol or anything that could be fired. It died out in the early-90s, which was replaced with superheros like Batman, and cyberpunk.

Rescue Rangers is getting a movie reboot, at least, and Darkwing Duck has a comic series.

They're actually airing a few of them on the Watch Disney website.

Well, there's a Darkwing Duck comic now. It's not "darker" but it's more dramatic.

They totally stole that from Alan Wake.

"SCANDALOUS!" doesn't get a lot of love but it's always been my go to thanks to Recess.
