Did it? I felt like season 2 had some but used it as a inspired plot motivator, while 4 had a lot more and kinda stewed in the development aspect instead of pushing stories/comedy forward (the whole thing with Ray's family, for example).
My issue with season 4 - and this practically goes up against every single idea of what counts as "good criticism" in the world - is that leaned -too- much on character development. There's actually a lot of backstories and character histories revealed in the season, but it kinda approaches it in a "obsessed over…
"PM Dawn" had me cackling for about 1 minute straight. It's the modern "Boo-urns".
I'd kill for a Wuzzles reboot. It had so much potential (a basically better version of MLP) but simply lacked direction.
It's funny you brought this up. I just bought DT Remastered last week, but due to internet issues, the patch couldn't download, so for a brief moment I played, I guess, the original release. I was SHOCKED that the patch was for fixing the "hard pogo" controls, mainly because I was shocked that they fucked them up in…
I did. It's… kind of a mess. It sets up a really weird premise despite being within the Shrek universe than does nothing with it. It also has a really undercooked cast of secondary characters.
If the makers of Mirror's Edge could somehow establish the same kind of tactile response that Metroid Prime had, it'd be perfect. The Metroid Prime series may be the only FPS that got FPS platforming right.
I can see that, but I think P&F has constantly and consistently subverted that formula in so many ways that it still manages to be watchable. Also, it's just really, really funny.
The Ashley Spinelli Show: The College Years?
Apparently CN is removing all repeats of Steven Universe from the schedule. Considering cartoons thrive on repeats, this isn't a good sign.
TMNT today and last week were decent, better then the knock-off 80s/90s films episodes that aired about a month ago. I'm a little biased, since I'm just finishing up the 2D animated TMNT that aired in 2003, but the current show is finally starting to get back on track.
Upvoted for a fellow Robot and Monster fan! I think about that show a lot. Baconmas was one of the best episodes of anything in 2012. Oh, and the episode when they pretty much revealed what Robot's parents straight-up HATED Robot. Bleak, but hilarious, stuff.
Funny thing about Nick — if you knew their history with their programming, what they did with Korra was actually par for the course. One of my favorite and most informative websites - nickandmore.com - did a thorough breakdown of Nick series that failed to air all the episodes: http://www.nickandmore.com/…
It's also important to remember that the marketing was function on a whole different wavelength than the show. The "bratty son" was a huge trend in the 90s, and FOX exploited that in the advertisements (see: the baby in Dinosaurs, the film Problem Child). Both the Simpsons and Dinosaurs both had episodes that focused…
Was that homophobia? It seemed more like "haha, sexual assault between women," which is also awkward. I want to say it's just part of Black Dynamite's super hyper-reality, along the lines of South Park, but still very problematic.
Eric and I disagreed on this, but I think the first season, while very flawed, had a focus on characterization that the second season mostly abandoned. A good example is Tricky Dick. In the first season, he had a personal vendetta against BD, as well as Elvis, and manipulated things to pit them against each other. It…
Our focus was on the finale but… yeah, that was not Black Dynamite at its best. I tried to block that one out of my mind, really.
"Bring them to me alive. I want to deal with them myself!"
I think standing up to your father is a different degree of danger than a random person on the street. Not that I don't disagree with the final moment being a strong one, though.
