I’ve heard toast as well. Maybe different kind of seizures and attacks have different kinds of smells.
The more I think about it, the more a lot of the post-finale chatter bothers me, particularly the idea that Coop trying to save Laura is hubris on his part. Many people have said that it’s a symbol of trying to retrieve an irretrievable past, that it’s a symbol of Cooper’s—and by extension, the audience’s—refusal to…
As some have described it, the Big Bad of the season was killed in the penultimate episode (the Ultimate Evil punched to death by a superhero), and the final episode introduces a new Big Bad and leaves us on a cliffhanger. Which is structurally a fairly common way to end a season of TV, I guess (or, at least, like, a…
It seemed to leave the door open to the possibility of a sequel, agreed...
“There should never be another episode of Twin Peaks.”
There is certainly a sort of “Emporer’s New Clothes” vibe to a lot of the episode reviews (“No, this plotline isn’t pointless; it’s a metacommentary on the pointless plotlines!”), but it’s still one hell of a ride. It has definitely improved as it has moved into the back half of the episodes.
You forget he still has his base . You must have one person on facebook that loves this guy . I mean we all do right .? I have a few and I want to unfriend them but I know I have to stay informed . I have to be aware of our enemy . I am blown away by the number of highly religious people who are willing to back this…
I’m sure the AV Club commenters can manage to express their dislike of this obviously morally bankrupt person without being misogynistic—oh dear.
“History needs to be told — the good, the bad, and the ugly,” Love said.
Well you went way off on a tangent, but I would argue that Stalin was more fascist than antifascist.
Would Stalin have been better if he was exactly the same Stalin but didn’t oppose Fascism?
Being against fascism is better than being for fascism or neutral towards fascism, so yes, all other things being equal, being anti-fascist is good.
Hey now, she cast that spell to turn herself into a litch without a problem, she’s gotta be knowledgeable about something right?
I’ve thought about Botox and decided against it. If I don’t look angry and tired all the time people might try and talk to me more.
Just as an additional point, I just remembered that I did mention the Gulf War in my original post, as an international event.
Excellent analysis. It will fall on a field of deaf ears here, but hey — I heard you.
“That’s the world we live in now; it’s more violent, more chaotic, and less innocent than the world of 25 years ago.”
I definitely hear ya. The very little we got of Classic Cooper last night was head and shoulders above anything “Dougie” did all season and I would’ve greatly appreciated it if Coop came back in the first half of the season.
The question to me is, is it too late? Yes, this was definitely a cheer-worthy episode (this and last week’s episode being the only two I’ve really thought were good), but with the status of the show being pretty unclear (no talks for another season, at least that I’ve heard), what’s the point? We get one (well, it’s…
