Ha no. I mean the entire series, there is someone lurking in corners. At the cafe, at the gala, and the final scene through someone watching with binoculars. It couldn't be the detective because someone was watching before anything happened. At the end maybe, but that doesn't explain earlier. They always showed

I know I'm silly, but why the person watching all series? Is that some metaphor? It didn't seem to fit for me. Who was watching? What were they trying to say?

Thoughts and theories: I've never read the book but my theory is that Jane goes to Monterey believing her attacker lives there. I think she wants to hunt him down and possibly kill him. I do believe it's Perry, and she knows or is starting to know he is somehow connected to these women. There is so much foreshadowing
