A genuine cornerstone for popular culture in the last quarter of the twentieth century. MTV and Wrestlemania, in particular, wouldn't have been the same without him, and could easily have bombed.

The general argument here is that companies, on the whole, got A LOT smarter with the way they use synergy and product placement to sell things. The 80s and 90s saw some experiments, amusing to us now, but Hollywood learned from it.

My gift you you: The Amazing Spider-Man series from 1978. All the funky library music a person could ever need or want. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi…

You're going to break the whole economy. Maybe that is why Hydra want it, devalue currency and build from the wreckage! :)

…and most of the interesting things we had already seen in Spaced.

"not the least funny Sandler movie of recent years"

Also, while I'm on B movies: the ease with which one can find cult movies on the internet has destroyed part of the joy of cult movies - discuss.

I found Sharknado a little bit *too* knowing. The kind of so-bad-it's-good cult films that are my favourite to watch are normally at least 10 years old and were made hoping to at least attract credible returns. I wonder, however, how Netflix, torrents etc have changed how people watch these sorts of films — it's not,

Some of us are terrible at Halo 3 AND don't shout at women online, thank you very much.

The revealing of new and interesting types of booze that people drink with meals has been one of the great advantages of getting older. Dessert wines followed by an interesting liquor coffee is the best way to finish a meal ever. Of course, people may look down at you if you're eating at your desk, but screw them.

When I said *I* have a recipe…

I am a big fan of weird, very strong porters and stouts. Therefore I am a big fan of Espresso/coffee/milk beers, though I'll admit that the caffeine probably doesn't survive.

I am of the opinion that putting fruit in an old fashioned puts you on the list with child molesters and people who talk at the theatre. The recipe I'm talking about is basically espresso, bourbon, syrup and bitters. I drank a case load of it last weekend and watched Bjork - hell of a time. The next day, not so much.

Mixing them surely still wins? I have an ace bourbon and espresso old fashioned recipe, if you want it.

Yeah, John Cena reminds me of the 'good guy' in the group of bullies kicking your ass. Like, he does charity work and never actually beats you up, but he is there in the background making jokes.

I really wish someone would edit together a 'this was worth watching' video each week. If there's only one match and a promo worth watching, then it'd be 20 minutes. If the whole show was worth watching, it'd be the whole show. WWE Experience doesn't really cut it. Does that exist?

Are they playing with us, though? I honestly thought the ref bump was teasing a Reigns heel turn, and then they swerved us with the dusty finish. Perhaps I'm overthinking it.

See: Fandango. If something is 'cool' or fun but no directly coming from creative, Vince ruins it by trying to bring it under control. Why wouldn't you let Axel run with whatever mad gimmick he manages to get going and see where it leads. Worse case scenario, a few organic fun matches and promos. Best case scenario,

Why is he not a real man? I couldn't figure that out.

I'm kind of only watching WWE PPVs right now. A three hour wrestling-heavy show every fortnight would probably be perfect for me. I wouldn't even feel guilty about missing Raw at that point.
