I managed to get my husband hooked on the show, and we both think it's the female version of "Maron," which coincidentally ended it's four year run on IFC earlier this year. I really love the quiet of the show, even when the characters are yelling at each other. And yes, it was totally cruel what Sam did to Phyl -

I can't help myself! Being a Cub fan is a genetic disorder ;)

The little shit becomes fodder for The Master, who takes him under his wing until he grows enough to take his body. But then that's from the books, and Nora lives until the end of the books, so take with it what you will.

I'm still waiting for all these other DOA airplanes landing all over the globe. Nora's death just ends it for me - and yeah, I read the books, and yeah, book 3's ending read like GdT just wanted to finish things without any real element of good storytelling.

Glad to see "Mr. Quinlan" is in the house, so to speak.

I'm so sorry! That wasn't my intent 😐
The show has diverted so far from the books, so…ah shit, my bad.

I hope you're right! I can't WAIT for Mr. Quinlan!!!!! He was my favorite character after Fet. I felt a ton of sympathy for him when reading, so I hope whoever plays him does a good job.

Keep trying. It does get a little more ridiculous in book 3, and it seems hurried, but the ending makes sense.

Unfortunately, the books say differently, but his petulance remains profound when in the books, Zachary becomes "the son" to The Master, so to speak, and becomes even more petulant and spoiled once he has Manhattan all to himself.

Aw hell, 7 year old Coral could beat the shit out of idiot Zach.

It took me about 2.5 months to read through all three books after season one, and now I'm dying because what is happening is so not like the books….ugh. My suggestion to all of you is to NEVER read the books until 1) you've had it with the TV series and want the real thing; 2) the TV series is over and you're bored.
