Too many of the cast have distracting moles of various types. I find that to be a general energy-drag when trying to follow an already convoluted story. The 2007 movie (Tom Jane) was excellent except for its bleak ending, and this series has little of that true tension.

The stock thing is funny but the gist of the original is that people are crowding and developing nature to death. I think the point is missed by many, who focus on the "art film" aspect.
