It could be worse - in Turkey nobody had a last name until 1920, and then the family elder got to choose a name, which lead to some really ridiculous/literal bullshit surnames still out there today

Does anyone else think Rick is getting progressively more and more sociopathic and cruel?
This seems like a totally different Rick than the one that was going to sacrifice himself in S2E2 (Time Split ep) or who turned himself in to the Federation so his family could have a normal life.
