Corbijn is very underrated as a director. CONTROL, THE AMERICAN, A MOST WANTED MAN and LIFE are all quite good.

Having seen this film at Sundance (and really disliked it), I'm shocked that Mr. D'Angelo gave this a gentleman's "C". Feels more like a "D" to me.

I too like his voice, but he really should have someone else sing the songs he wrote with Bacharach. At the time PAINTED FROM MEMORY was released, I though Luther Vandross would've been a great choice.

ALL THIS USELESS BEAUTY is incredible, which includes "The Other End (of the Telescope)", particularly when you consider that most of the songs were conceived and written for other artists. And it's likely the last we'll ever hear of EC with the Attractions.

As is National Ransom, which I don't find to be particularly outside of Elvis' wheelhouse.

Considering Larry starred in Kelly Reichardt's early RIVER OF GRASS, it's not that surprising.

Go watch this while you're at it too:

Strange but true fact: Cat Power actually loves dogs.

I feel bad for them anyway: Subway is the chain "restaurant" sued by its franchisees more often than any other.

Madison Square Garden is not located downtown. It's most assuredly Midtown Manhattan.

I used to eat at Fitzwilly's in New Haven to try and run into Jodie Foster while she was attending Yale.

McCartney is very much the same way (although to his credit he almost never takes potshots at his 1960s "peers".

Mouserat?

Too bad the song is terrible. Shouldn't be surprising, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes are truly awful as well.

Among other thingsā€¦..
