I felt the same way. I wonder if @avclub-b7ee6f5f9aa5cd17ca1aea43ce848496:disqus saw the movie (?), because as soon as you said Scream 2 I knew that's what it had to be. I've heard other people comment on the Randy death too, so I think it's a pretty common reaction.
