How can you go this entire article without mentioning a remix by one Eric Theodore Cartman.
True, from what I heard though, the reason it was passed was because Weiner and Strauss didn't get along.
Early-to-mid 70s Pacino for sure. Ask yourself if Oscar can play Serpico or Michael Corleone. I say yes.
Well granted I don't watch TV dramas for the musical numbers but I didn't love them. They were not bad at all but I didn't have any connection to them musically.
Isn't she the reason that Mad Men never got to HBO?

So I watched the pilot of Treme and I was bored to tears. To those who have seen it, should I plug along and if so, how long do I have to wait for it to be legitimately good? Episode 4 or 5 of Season 1 was when I got hooked on The Wire.
Ben Wyatt was mayor of Partridge, Minnesota when he was 18.
The parallels to early-to-mid 70s Al Pacino are there, just without all the unnecessary screaming.
Interesting that Matthew Weiner complained that all the costumes and 1960-props he wanted for S1 were monopolized by the production of Revolutionary Road.

I'd have to agree, Boardwalk Empire was HBO's "Mad Men"-esque project and HBO spared no expense with getting Scorsese to direct the pilot. The show had many lavish sets but low ratings, so much so that HBO really did the worst thing possible by jumping seven years from S4 to S5 just to end the show (and with eight…
One of the great things that Mad Men did that other shows should do was to have (at least) one commentary track on every episode. I mean how hard is it to sit through an episode of work you did and appreciate it or comment on it?
I think the show is fine but there is no reason to buy the DVDs, the BB cast and crew put out a weekly podcast explaining the episodes starting with Season 2. Considering BB is already streaming, it makes no sense to plunk down more money after that.
Season 7 (both parts) was awesome.
