I don't think you were overthinking it- why go all that way and do at least a cursory look in her medicine cabinet- get a doctor's name off a bottle, then peep her records?

Also, maybe look around her apartment while you are there for the prescription bottle! When you have those dose-a-day boxes, you still have the prescription bottle around so you can refill it for the following week. I can usually suspend my disbelief for this show, but that irked me.
