agreed. he was offering protection to have an intellectual companion, i don't think he knew he'd get a two-fer in the deal.

she also "unlocked" the door to let the cat out, but she just let it close behind her going back in. I've always assumed the killer came in from the back door, but wondered why the cat didn't follow him in

i took that as he really didn't know which toy would work type thing….and the food he's just copying from what was in the girl's house….i just don't think he's given it that much thought to say, oh well dry is cheaper. i don't even think he's thinking he'll have it that long.

I was thinking the same thing…how cheap can those be? is he really getting ROI?

definitely for the audience, as DR is really only in the NYC metro. I'm sure my family in the south and the folks here on the West Coast would have been stumped without the visual. Otherwise, he would have had to say his name was Walgreens or his initials were CVS. :)

the pic at the bottom of the stairs literally gave me chills. because at no point in all these episodes has anyone ever mentioned the possibility of someone else coming into the house. the blood spear on the back door lock was another great find for me (although it gives pause to whether the "law" caught that as well.

I thought it was interesting..in 2nd ep one of the cops was clearly affected by cat dander, he said there was a cat around here somewhere if you're wondering why…yet Stone let the cat in, fed it and took it to the shelter without a single sneeze.

It was def someone with access to the house. It wasn't broken into. Unless they came thru the backdoor she put the cat out of..and the fact that the cat didn't come in and track blood, leads me to believe either purposely left cat outdoors or came thru front door.

my money was on Bodie's friend…..
but the scene in the graveyard with the stepdad tonight gave me pause. i also didn't like the way he responded when they asked him to view the body. for all we know, her death was a warning to him…maybe some shady business dealings?

i don't think the scene bothered me as much as most of you guys out there. initially, i thought it was his ex, but then i realized it wasn't…so i had more of that "he probably wishes he was still with his ex" empathy.
too much footage of the feet aside, i think the intent is to show us a man at his lowest, ala Paul

he clearly said he was allergic. let's let him clear up that eczema first! :)
