Casting James Earl Jones to reprise his role just makes this new Lion King feel less essential than ever. With Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney started making it's rides into movies. Now, re-updating all their classics without changing anything about them, it feels like Disney is making their movies into rides.

At some point don't you have to ask "What's the point?" Like, if they're not even bringing in new actors to put a new spin on the characters, isn't this basically the exact same movie with fresher graphics? (And of course, I mean what's the point other than $$$.)
