I'm guessing that the "Shoulda been Bernie" crowd believe that he would have done better with Trump supporters who are disgusted with our whole political system, as opposed to extolling him as some paragon of integrity.

If you think that "bland, corporatist insider" is equally bad as "unstable, racist megalomaniac con man" then you are most definitely not on my political team.
Eh, Clinton didn't do particularly worse with Millennials than with other groups. She just did badly with everyone, compared to expectations. Really you should be pissed off at baby boomers. If only we had cut off their health insurance a few years ago, Trump wouldn't have been elected.
Your anecdote may have relevance to the results. While Clinton underperformed relative to Obama across basically all demographics, she did really badly with unmarried men. In that demographic, exit polls gave her -10 points relative to Obama's 2012 results, see http://www.motherjones.com/….
I can't yet muster the energy to be outraged at the people who stayed home. I am still trying to wrap my head around the concept that fully half my country took a long, hard look at Trump, and decided that he is the man we want as our leader.
