I don't get the reference.

You're right. I had forgotten about that. It is a song from an old children's Christmas TV show. The melody might be a traditional, but the lyrics were written for that show.

Both are delicious.

Danish Danish are almost always with cinnamon and/or custard. Occassionally apples but never chees or cherry. Bonus fact: The Danish word for the pastry is Wiernerbroed (Wienna Bread) because a Danish baker invented them after being inspired by seeing croissants etc i Wienna.

Interestingly, the song in the show is in Danish, but is not a an actual Danish song that I know of. The lyrics are is something about christmas, but again it is not an actual Danish christmas song.

They were real. Frikadeller are Danish meatballs, and Leverpostej is a liver pate usually eaten on rye bread with pickled beets.

I am Danish. AMA about the Danish references in this and the previous episodes.
