it was already expensive — those hundreds of extra all decked out in viking garb. there's a major battle scene brewing — besides there have been clips in the previews.
this episode was a mess. the sons don't have the collective appeal of their father; and bjorn's stomping around and yelling doesn't make him kingly material.
there is no way in hell trump will fulfill the 4 year term..
but how he exits is the question — heart attack or impeachment. or just too lazy to do all of that goddamn work. just the reading assignments have to be killing him. he's never done an honest day's work in his life.
trump.
agreed.. esp the cowardly way she murdered aslaug… recall when first introduced to the happy couple, ragnar about to depart for pillaging, and lagertha told him not to sleep with other women… so it's not like she wasn't aware of his tendencies.
yeah. iirc, the opening sequence flashes on the screen the baltics a.d. 793 …
good grief, that staging is horrifying.
the hollywood reporter has a q&a with hirst and fimmel. here's a quote from fimmel re the snake pit (a little levity):
what's so cool about these two excellent programs is how they are covering the sameish time period — just from different perspectives. the last kingdom is the british side and how england came to be; and vikings from the perspective of the invaders.
damn. i knew this was coming; but it was still heartbreaking to watch — esp after the last couple of days' dreadful fucking news.
that's how i prefer to see this horrible sadness… even though i'm not a religious person..
oh man… i'd forgotten about that bankruptcy scandals. her shithead ex lost all of her millions and iirc, leaving her in considerable debt. that she insisted on paying off.
and sister and mother in todd's case.
nice story, but he's gonna get hit with a huge tax bill that will take a considerable chunk of that money.
the beach boys are considering an offer…. kiss said 'no'… lol
he's said in an interview that he was originally supposed to die in the first season. and hirst has stated that he's always seen the story as one about the sons; and not so much ragnar.
love tlk… i didn't watch vikings until after i'd seen tlk.. and noticed how tlk had 'ubbe' and 'ragnar' characters — both sadly departed in spectacular ways.
there's a youtube video of fimmel and roache and they talk about that conversation. they spent days working out the lines, and kept delaying the filming until they were satisfied. imagine what's been left on the cutting room floor… ugh.
ok… i feel compelled to stand up for aslaug… it's a tad annoying to see her constantly blamed for ragnar's betrayal of lagertha.
recall, ragnar invited her to travel with him; he made the first move and abandoned his wife because she couldn't bear him the sons he preferred. and then ragnar abandoned her and the…
