I was really hoping the point of the whole restraining order and Jess' incessant need to be liked was going to have the endgame of Sam telling her that she hurt him and sometimes there's nothing you can do to fix the pain you've caused someone but Leave. Them. Alone.
Obviously they didn't go this route.
