You are very correct, sir! Apparently I had my facts mixed up.

You're ARE right. People often survive multiple gunshot wounds and even with the limited scope of pre-WWII trauma surgery (no rubber, plastics, or plasma transfusions) it's possible that Chalky could survive being shot multiple times and near point-blank range.

I think that since they weren't going to a show a body, they made sure that it would be clear to the viewer that there was no possible way he could have escaped. Also, several gunshots went off when the screen cut to black. The only way Chalky could still be alive is if there were five other guys with guns directly

I couldn't have imagined better death for Van Alden though. It was quick and sudden but at the height of one of his characteristic wrath-of-god tirades. For the past few seasons Van Alden's been in hiding, living a lie on the edge between life in prison and a bullet to the head. He must have known he was going to die.

Was it just me or was Daughter just trying to save her daughter's skin by telling Narcisse that it wasn't Chalky's kid? I mean, she had to know that the odds of Chalky walking away from this meeting with Narcisse were slim to none, especially after he didn't put a bullet in Narcisse as soon as he sent his men out and
