Having just re-read Johns' run on GL, it was the title least effected by the reboot. Everything from Rebirth to The End happened without any meddling after the fact. Though like with Morrison's Batman work, if you looked too hard that stopped making sense.

Yeah, if you don't know that Knopfler got the lyrics from hearing a guy in an appliance store bitching about a music video on MTV, and the lyrics are largely quoting that guy, the song comes across as pretty awful.

I agree with you. I can say "man, it's a shame they didn't stick the landing" or "this show was good up until X point", but…it exists. Denying they made three Matrix movies doesn't change the fact that, you know, they made three Matrix movies.

I remember describing the first action sequence in Forever as being "better than all of Burton's times ten", which is hyperbolic but, man, Burton was lousy at fight scenes in those movies.

I don't know, Chaykin didn't really do all that well with that Blackhawk mini that felt a lot like "American Flagg gone pulp", so I think the only way it could have worked would have been going the indies route.

The Bizarro issues drag it down a little, but it's kind of the platonic ideal of Superman otherwise, especially the magnificent issue 10.

Morrison's JLA is second only to Simonson's Thor for me in terms of comic book runs, but the distance between the two is so small it's nearly impossible to measure it.
