Yes, doing it without sounding derivative (which is something that really bogs down hardcore as a genre) is really admirable.
And an incredibly well-respected record label.
Also, their longevity and continued progression is to be admired. Fads come and go in that scene something fierce. It takes a special talent to continue to evolve, not loose a step, and continue to be the standard-bearers (in many ways/my own opinion) of a genre for more than 20 years.
You've got that right. For as much as I love the band and admire how
well they've evolved in a scene that, as Anthony so appropriately put
it, can be so resistant to change, that song is still tough to beat. It's
like a fucking statement of purpose. "Everytime you justify…"
