The producers have confirmed that the film(s) will have some fundamental … differences. King tweeted something several months ago that got me really excited for the adaptation, but it's also a MAJOR spoiler for the books.

IIRC, you couldn't pre-order the NES Classic *anywhere* in any capacity; you just had to line up at a brick & mortar, or wait for a vendor's website to make it available for sale the day of, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens here.
