And, even if the film truly wasn't what the studio had wanted, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have held it too much against Hill considering that the movie was a massive hit.

Remember that time I barbecued?

This song is widely liked? I thought everyone hated this song.

Yeah, the song is in no way excusing the fact that the dad wasn't there because "he's a man and that's what men do". It's more a man deeply regretting that he didn't realize what was most important at the time. It's such a shitty song and I hate to defend it, but I think she's way off the mark.

Yeah, I did not interpret Arya's killing of Walder to be a fist-pumping, "you go girl" moment. The smile she gives while bleeding him out is disturbing shit, and definitely seems to point towards her becoming a full-on psychopath.

I loved It Follows and The Guest, but they are not going to be as remembered twenty years from now as Scream is today.

Yeah, it was one of those movies that I had no interest whatsoever in seeing until everyone started talking about how great it was. Within a week or two, it was the movie everyone was talking about. Mind you, in 1996 that hadn't happened with a horror movie in a LONG time.

Well, Leatherface was running around chasing victims in 1974. Then again, the "running zombie" thing was used in Return of the Living Dead 16 years before 28 Days Later, too.

Oh, I'm sure it'll happen. It just won't take them a decade

Inside Out is in my top three all-time Pixar films along with Wall-E and Finding Nemo. Everything else they've done since Toy Story 3 is completely forgettable, imo. It's to the point where a new Laika film is more exciting to me than a new Pixar film.

Both "Up" and "Wall-E" start with first acts that are among the best feature-length animation ever produced, then become something closer to very good but standard contemporary animation as they go on.

I've seen every film since and haven't particularly enjoyed any of them save for Inside Out. It actually makes me a little sad when I think about how little interest I have in Finding Dory, especially considering that Finding Nemo might be my favorite thing they've ever done.

That made sense when they were doing primarily original and risky films like "Up", "Wall-E", and "Ratatouille". I don't think anyone begrudged them "Cars 2" when it was the exception rather than the rule. However, for the past several years that seems to have reversed somewhat. Seriously, what would the perception

Something something Ass Dan something something….

I am massively ashamed of this, but I first heard of Akira Kurosawa from his mention in Barenaked Ladies' "One Week". I really want to believe I'd have gotten turned on to him eventually otherwise, but the fact is I watched "Rashomon" after recognizing his name and realizing he was the guy who made mad films about

I went through a Troma phase in my late teens where I watched WAY too much of their stuff. When I went back to check them out again later, the only one that wasn't a complete embarrassment was Tromeo and Juliet.

Nah. No one can be more "go the fuck away" hated than X-Pac was in 2001

Only way to be sure

Without Nathan, I would never have watched The Apple, and for that gift I am eternally grateful.

Asshole Superman (he wasn't really evil, just kind of a dick) was great. I loved it when he blew out the Olympic torch just as the guy was about to light it and then the guy had to walk back down the steps looking all dejected.
