Final scene of the series: Zoe Barnes wakes up and this has all been a nightmare she's having.

Yeah, but you started by ranting about how your own child is the kind of kid who could commit violent acts like this and that's why you think Nicky could be a kid like yours and how I am a terrible person for not thinking that Nicky might be a kid like yours. So, yeah, you did go off on me for not knowing your kid is

So you are saying your child might inflict injuries like the ones Gabrielle got? I defer to your superior knowledge of your own child. But you really should look up the word "xenophobe". It doesn't mean what you think it does.

Saying you "got played" suggests there was actually something in the show that made this "theory" seem possible. But there was nothing. You played yourself.

BTW, what happened to all the genius commentators from last week who thought that Nicky might be the one abusing Gabrielle? Surely they have some new super-tight conspiracy theory about how the little kid was the mastermind of the abuse after all. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Sorry …. I couldn't resist ….

Andrea, I think you got that entirely wrong about Raelyn intentionally failing the test. Clearly what was best for her kids was for her not to be in jail and taking care of them. She does, however, recognize that Jeanette and Carson are a good next best thing and so she's glad they are doing it. Raelyn does not

Suppose, just for a moment, that Claire were a truly good person who would never even consider harming Gabrielle. Suppose she is someone who truly cares about Gabrielle and wants to help her any way she can. What would you expect this version of Claire's reaction to be upon hearing the story of how Gabrielle almost

That's just nuts. Nicky isn't Damien from The Omen. It also makes no sense that Gabrielle would be so affectionate with him and take him when she left if he is the one torturing her. There is a 0% chance this theory is right. make that -10% chance.

It wasn't a request. It was an offer. It was an offer to help Gabrielle keep her passport safe when she was obviously shaken by the thought he might have lost it. Like I said before, I can easily imagine someone who is NOT up to no good and wants to be helpful making the same offer.

Good Lord! You obviously are sweating details all of which could be explained if the show wanted to do a 2-hour special on filling in all the details for people who worry about things that don't really matter. Allow me to help you with just one of the grievances on your list:

A number of people have commented (in past weeks as well) about the passport thing, but I have to say I disagree entirely with this description of what happened. If Claire had suggested keeping the passport in the safe right after Gabrielle arrived and for no particular reason, then the idea that it was a shady move

Someone cannot go through their life *not* being abusive and then suddenly do the kind of things we see Claire has done to Gabrielle. So she must have done it before. If she has done it before, it is hard to believe that Nick would not know about it, even if he was unaware about it this time. So when Claire starts to

I would certainly not call season 2 a masterpiece. The story with the public school always felt poorly integrated into the show and we never got much of the hacker subplot, but it was a very good season overall. You say it wasn't clear what happened in the initial incident and I agree, but that as very intentional.

The difference between being French and Irish is not the same as the difference between being Japanese and Korean. Besides, there is nothing about this character that is distinctively Japanese other than her name, so the easy fix is to change the character's name to a Korean one.

Well, Andrea, I guess I am fully on "Team Ridley" because when it comes to this show I have decided that joints are for wimps. I'm really liking the impressionistic flow of there being several stories that might or might not have any connection at all … and then some end and others begin … others just keep marching

Speaking of French Canada, there are a lot of Haitian immigrants in Quebec and they seem to get along just fine speaking French. That is, in fact, why they come to Quebec in much greater numbers than English speaking parts of Canada.

Yeah, because when I think "John Ridley" I think "guy who supports white privilege"….

I agree that it wasn't racist (although I was thinking of international examples like "in Switzerland" or "in Australia").

When I was watching the first episode of season 1 I was really surprised that this show was on network TV at all, so three seasons seems like a miracle. I'm sure that 14 Emmy nominations (and two wins for Regina King) have helped keep it on the air, but with fewer than 2 million people watching each week this surely

Andrea, I feel like I should be disappointed for all of the reasons you mention (except the issue of who killed Teo - I saw it as an open question left unanswered last week, so was not confused this week). But I'm not. I feel like after two and a half seasons of watching his more impressionistic style of storytelling
