As someone who likes the opening, I'm genuinely disappointed whenever I see people diss it by comparing it to commercials or whatever, and not the most obvious comparison point, the "Everybody Hurts" video.

Elle is terrific. It and Manchester by the Sea were genuinely two of the best comedies I saw last year.

They've abandoned quality control now that it's come out half their readers are catfishes.

He offs his abusive father in the first five minutes by pouring a lethal dose of strychnine into some whiskey, but that’s a different matter. This act of patricide is supposedly not a part of the novel that The Shack is based on, and has almost no bearing on the movie. It’s addressed so vaguely that it’s debatable
