Moonlight and Arrival won Best Original and Adapted Screenplay at the WGAs tonight (although they'll be competing against each other in Adapted at the Oscars).

I just had the hardest time in Actor picking performances I was really passionate about. That probably speaks more to the movies I've watched than an overall deficiency in that arena, admittedly. Certainly the performances at the top are stunning.

I still haven't seen the movie! I'll do so this week, I promise (and I have no doubt he'll be near the top of what is an exceptionally weak leading actor field).

I'm going to follow Spy's example and do my performance listings for 2016 movies, prior to the posting of those results.

At least DeHaan has been kicked around before (see: The Amazing Spider-Man 2). Having your first two times at the head of a major blockbuster be those two movies within two months of each other is kind of unprecedented.

For everyone who had a good time at trivia tonight (and those who didn't show up but would want to play in the future), join me next week for Oscar-related trivia! If nothing else, you may very well learn something about the lengths Harvey Weinstein will go to get his movies Oscar attention.

At least she probably accepts the moon landing and 9/11 as fact. Unlike one of my other favorite actresses currently working…

Note to self: Just naturally assume any actor is a complete doddering moron from hereon out.

And he's written maybe the most consistently readable, funny put-downs of movies since Ebert.

He's just going to dress like his character in Magic Mike XXL but with a cute little lion cub hat on.

What better way to wish Digi a happy birthday than after everyone else? Happy birthday!

*grumble* Would've been cooler with Cliff Martinez.

I need this movie in my life so badly.

I do not think anybody liked it as much as I do, up to and including Mike Mills.

The best online decision I've ever made was to almost exclusively refer to Mel Gibson as a prankster who smokes cigars whenever he comes up.

Damn, what did Michelle Williams do to deserve that?

I love all her movies, but yeah, The Virgin Suicides reigns supreme over all.

I think you'll find that hating a Sofia Coppola movie here will not get you nearly as much blowback as you're expecting.
