That's all I'm saying.
That's all I'm saying.
These movies aren't for non-believers in the first place. How is this film shoving anything down anyone's throats? Nobody's making anyone buy a ticket.
Cute, but that still doesn't change his style of writing, which was from a logical standpoint. You may not agree with his logic, but that is the manner in which he spoke.
I've heard the argument that it's based on a logical fallacy and I honestly didn't find the argument particularly compelling.
Tolkien didn't care for allegory, so obviously he wasn't likely going to be a fan of the Narnia books. I almost admire Lewis all the more for writing them anyway when one of your good friends has a low opinion of them. As for Lewis' more overt religious writings, I think Tolkien's views on them are petty. He didn't…
It wasn't that Susan didn't "get into heaven." She didn't die, for one thing, so they leave her ultimate fate up in the air. The idea was that she went astray, which is common with Christians.
I think Lewis was far better at what he did than Lucas is at what he did. His Narnia books certainly weren't on the level of The Lord of the Rings or other Middle Earth books, but they're still great books, as are many of his other works (Mere Christianity, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters).
That's a rather judgmental statement in and of itself.
If you truly believe something to be true then why wouldn't you think other people to be wrong? This isn't exclusive to Christianity, it's true of every single worldview and there are people of every single worldview that are bold enough to say that they believe those of other worldviews are all wrong. It's…
Are you telling me that atheists' statements don't carry arrogance? Atheists often just go straight to name-calling when it comes to people of faith. Heck, one of their most prominent voices, Richard Dawkins, wants religion abolished.
Nothing says "obnoxious" like being logical.
Wow. Could the reviewer be more condescending?
