It's plausible in the books because we know of his experiences and influences. Laoghaire didn't think he could fuck like a beast. Plus, in the books almost everyone is a Mary Sue. I won't even mention how many people fall so madly in love with both Jamie and Claire. This is a problem with the writing, imo
