For me, there is no question in my mind that he did not rape or kill
Hannah.  Not only do I think the story does not work if he is guilty,
but the guilt that Rectify is so far exploring is Daniel's conflated guilt about
what happened to Hannah: He is, so far, unable to separate his guilt
over what he sees as his part
