I know they aren't going to kill Burton or Rebecca off…but remember how Nola and Carrie had that cool pie scene? Because of that scene I now worry whenever I'm delighted by a surprising combination of characters.

If you're down for the premise you'll probably like it. There are moments of "what? why is he reacting like that? oh, because the plot needs him to." but then there are moments of crazy fun action horror and good acting to make up for it. When it was airing I really looked forward to new episodes.
If you only want to watch the eps that add significantly to the mythology, I think you can jump back in with Steven's Lion, Giant Woman, So Many Birthdays, Lion 2, Rose's Room, Coach Steven, Monster Buddies, Indirect Kiss, Mirror Gem, Ocean Gem, Space Race, Fusion Cuisine and Lion III.
Yeah, Amethyst's last good episode was the one where she was a secret wrestler. They've been adding a lot of shades to Pearl lately, but I feel like Garnet's and Amethyst's characters have gotten a little one note as a result. Eh, whatever. I trust that the show will give them their due eventuallly.
It is strange! And intriguing. Pearl loves Gem things, does not love Earth things. Her favorite thing about Earth seems to be Steven, and he's new. So why side with Amethyst, Garnet and Rose (assuming she had a choice)? It's just fascinating to me.
Dude, I know. I'm so, so hyped up for what comes next even as I'm sad for Steven's innocence. There was something about this one that felt like the end of summer.
I actually feel a lot like I did with the first season of Agents of SHIELD, where I was dissatisfied with how most of the episodes came together, but I really wanted to watch a second season. I've been rewarded for my faith in SHIELD with a pretty entertaining second season, and I liked Marco Polo better than most of…
Wait, you think it's stupid that Ahmed's got a humongous mural of himself very recognizably murdering the Khan of Khans right there on his wall? Hello, it's called a vision board. And its presence is evidence of amazing world-building and rich character detail and stuff because the Khan allows all of his subjects…
Yeah, I've read five issues of Bee and Puppycat and that music box story was the best one so far even without the QR codes. At first I was like, oh what a cute idea, but the story itself had that little dark twist that reminded me of the first episode of the cartoon.
Eeeeeee! That's a fucking great choice.
You leave my baby alone!
What? No.
In Monster Buddies I remember thinking it was weird that the gem looked like a girl before resolving into a little monster, but the reveal that all monster gems used to be regular gems was kind of a big deal for me.
I wouldn't mind seeing Ming Hua again…
It was a good look.
I don't understand how this isn't Gotham Central. The premise described above makes zero sense to me, and GC makes perfect sense for a network show. Am I missing something? Does someone own a thing and then something had to be re-written and then some lawsuits happened?
aw, jeez, you just made me really sad.
Why do production companies like Sony exist if not to coordinate efforts between lots of different parties? It'd be fun if the next stage of "the golden age of TV" featured more international efforts, like Gaumont International and Hannibal. Sony, working with HBO and AZN, could probably produce a period samurai show…
Oh, you're probably right. I think Cohle noticed the lack of date on the flyer, and I thought that he continued to suggest that the church moved around (which was true, whatever the church was, it had moved), but it could have been Hart, and it would make sense that Hart would be the first one to bring up tents,…
