I can't believe no one has mentioned the audio from the tv in Nikki's room as she returns! It sounded like a sitcom where a doofy sounding guy says "did you stab the hostage?!" followed by a canned studio laugh track.

I'm so glad you said that because I'm not alone. That puppy in the fridge section bothered me IMMENSELY when I read this around age 11, and occasionally will just pop into my head. That and the woman's ankle breaking in the church in Needful Things have haunted me.
