After the second, with that ludicrous river battle scene, I had no hope the final one would be any good at all. So, like a chump, I went and saw the third. I swear I won't see the fourth though!

Well, I for one think that "the 'children’s story' aspect of this" is part and parcel of what makes it great. "Children's story" should not be derogatory.

Is Birdemic self-aware though? If it that is news to me, and honestly a relief. How someone could make that—clearly having seen The Birds and An Inconvenient Truth at least, if not more movies—and not be aware of how awful it is, simply boggles my mind.

The makeshift family onboard the Serenity. Firefly doesn't get enough credit as one of the best hang-out shows ever. Whedon writes a wonderful group dynamic for a tremendously talented cast that has great chemistry with each other.
It's like a firm but gentle, exceedingly British rebuke to the excesses of US reality TV.

I did my mourning for it a long time ago, and gradually too. Started after Troy left, I think, or maybe after Harmon left and four was confirmed to be bad. Anyway, it feels weird not caring much anymore about the continued existence (or lack thereof) of what was once probably my favorite show on TV.
