Grrr. Argh.

Aw. You really should catch up on POI. Of course, I'd love to have more readers, but the show is also amazing in its own right. It takes a while to get going, so I personally had to exercise patience through much of Season 1, but it's one of the best shows on TV now. If you go into the comments, someone may repost a

I am. I'm that crazy woman who defends Girls and has gotten Top 10 commenter from the Commies two years running (so somebody must know who I am). I've been reading the AVC since 2006 or earlier. Some of the writers are new, but many of us have been loyal readers for a long time.

OMG.

The sarcasm here is palpable.

I'm watching it, and it's much better than I expected. I enjoy the cultural insight, as well as the treatment of religion, which is usually just avoided on TV.

Oh hey, I wrote that.

It's not necessarily about wanting to review something. There's a lot of TV out there to watch and it's especially difficult to catch up on long-running shows that you weren't covering from the beginning.

It doesn't hurt that I actually find Holland compelling to watch. And that sassy haircut is cute, dammit. I was just wondering why she was acting so relatively normally around Oliver this week after all of her training. I guess I'm not sure how exactly she's changed yet.

Must-reads? I like that. Ha. I was worried about reviewing an oftentimes plot-heavy thriller/sci-fi show because I've never considered those genres to be in my wheelhouse, but it's actually been great to realize that I can do it. It also prevents me from being pigeonholed as a critic who can only write about one

*Shirley and Annie awwwww* Thanks prof!

I knew that catching glimpses of HACF, thanks to my boyfriend's interest in the show, would be worth it! It's a great comment section all around; I especially love when you guys show up.

Thanks. That honestly means a lot. I'm still grappling with my confidence as a writer, and probably always will, but at least I'm getting practice. There was so much going on in that ep that it was a challenge to try to write about it concisely and quickly. With all of the great insight on this site, especially this

Thanks. The line you quoted just reminded me of one of the many things I didn't have time to add to the review. Great comment. /sigh

I don't know! I found it weirdly uncompelling! Too many network-y tics or something, and the characters didn't interest me nearly as much as they were supposed to. But I've also heard years of complaining; knowing that there is frustration regarding mystery reveals couldn't have helped.

Thaaaat's who that is. It's been driving me crazy. Thank you.

He's just mad for the typical reasons. He loves the director and doesn't like the idea of his favorite site giving it a bad review. His motivations are hilariously transparent.

Happy bday buddy!

And I originally spelled it "Minnie," like a random Disney reference makes any kind of sense on POI.

Short version: love it. It works for me as a fun satirical contemporary fairy tale. Alien's sing songy rhyme at the piano is the key to the movie for me.

I thought about you when I found out about the cancelation. I was hoping that you're OK! I still need to watch it and will. Maybe the remake will be good?
