I have to admit, I like the demon in Vanessa. It speaks the truth and calls everyone out on their bullshit.
To Sir Malcolm: "But we were speaking of the women. They were as follows…
To Victor: "You think you know a greater demon? Tell me of him, or shall I tell you?"
To Ethan: "Did you f&^k him or did he f*&k you?

Another recurring theme, regarding Vanessa and Dracula. John Clare/the Creature said in "And Hell Itself My Only Foe":
"True evil is, above all things, seductive. When the Devil knocks at your door, he doesn't have cloven hooves. He is beautiful, and offers you your heart's desire in whispered airs. Like a siren,

John Clare. Just get the feeling that it was too much of a good thing for him and something bad is coming.
Victor, Dorian and Dr. Jeckyll - the douche brothers. Geez. I want Lily to rip them limb from limb.

Me too. AND, what were the more vampirey vampires from season one? The one killed in the first episode that Victor autopsied. Were they older, "higher" servants?

I am overjoyed you just used "milquetoast".

So much good stuff!
First of all: Dr. Seward says that Vanessa is manifesting at least three people. This is my ongoing big question and Dr. Seward sort of answers it. We have:
1. Vanessa herself
2. The possessed/Amunet/demon Vanessa (as in Season One's "Obsession")
3. What is the 3rd? Or is #2. Amunuet and #3. the

Thank you! I didn't see that but it clears up the confusion for me. Also, besides saving/protecting Ethan, Sir Malcolm knows from Katenay that Ethan is a key element in this whole "end of days" scenario. He is the only one who can truly protect Vanessa and help prevent whatever bad, evil thing is coming to end the

Dr. Seward: Indeed, is she truly Vanessa's friend as her ancestor Joan Clayton was, and also gifted with the same abilities? OR, is she pretending and really a nightcomer/in league with Dracula…or Lucifer?

When Jamie pulled rank and authority on Dougal numerous times, Dougal listened and deferred. Do you think it was legitimate respect for Jamie and his leadership or was Dougal frontin?

"I haven't been honest with you, Claire; (begins to remove shirt) my grandmother was a scullery maid and I should have (massive pectorals…..)" Whaaaaaaa, Jamie my ears stopped working due to your shirtlessness. Dude you can be from the hood, the gutter, the street, no problemo.

In his defense, she began kissing him. At first he didn't respond, then began to, then stopped because he cares for her. He is a man, after all. NOT that I'm condoning patient abuse! NO. But this was the 1890's and he responded as a man, but then as a human being. I think he began as just being her orderly, but

The absolute best moment was Father Beocca's "YO MAMMA SO UGLY" to Skorpa.

The front-merge braid has got to go.

I have a feeling it may be Uhtred's son. Also, if Alfred skrews Uhtred over again after personally witnessing Uhtred's battle strategy insight and smarts…..

I'm starting to enjoy Aethelwold!

It was satisfying to watch Sir Malcolm identify and embrace his inner complete SOB self but also realize the only good he had was his family. Lily's monologue was exquisite, but I do have to give Sir Malcolm's honorable mention. Based on the end of Evelyn and his conversation, is Vanessa Sir Malcolm's daughter?

I wondered the same thing about Proteus. Would the innocent creation also eventually turn dark and horrifying? Lily's dark turn was a surprise and adds so much to the sort of blank existing character. Are all Victor's unnatural creations destined for the same darkness; the nature of the beast? I wonder how much

Is this not the question on everyone's mind: Why didn't Vanessa recognize Lily/Brona?!! We all know they previously met and even if Vanessa didn't recognize her, what about her "spidey-sense"/superpower of knowing things about people? I was holding my breath and then….whaaaaaat?

Agreed; I expected there to be a cutaway scene to two dogs going at it.
