I've been calling him Le Chib, leader of the resistance. Scuttlebutt suggests that we may not only get a writers room, but serialised seasons as well. If we do, oh my… I shall be in heaven. My biggest hope for Le Chib's run is that we get some longer form stories.

I see your point. RTD's arcs did have a strong element of "and then, suddenly", which is never a sign of good storytelling. I think with NuWho both showrunners have had their flaws, and what we've ended up with is a situation where one approach works better for a given individual than it will for another.
