It might not be dispositive evidence in the real world, but this is a television show. They choose to show what they show and they chose to show Tywin writing letters in at least two, rather long scenes this season. There were close-up shots of Tywin writing and sealing those letters.

* The episode is called "The Rains of Castamere" which is the song that recounts the story of how Tywin Lannister wiped out an entire house for being uppity. Cersei explained the back story in great detail to Margaery in the previous episode.

A Storm of Swords is considered by many fans of the books to be the best in the series. Right now, the TV show has only reached the halfway point of that book. There are also two more rather hefty books after that.

Maisie's silent facial expressions while she watched her brother's men being killed were phenomenal. She looked so happy and hopeful before it happened—heartbreaking.

George R. R. Martin sends his regards.

I watched the first season of the show before reading "A Game of
Thrones" and then plowed through the rest of the books before I got to
watch season 2 of the show.

What's funny is that Gleeson is as different from Joffrey as you can get. He's apparently a genius and planning on quitting acting to focus on academia.

There are transgender and bisexual, etc. folks outside of Tumblr who have long criticized Savage for having a very narrow, and at times problematic, view of sexuality and gender. It's not people "going out of their way" to be offended, but people whose identities and lives are being denigrated or dismissed by a man

That's a little unfair. The first season of Torchwood was awful. The second was better, though uneven. The third was superb. The fourth I haven't finished watching yet, but it's pretty good. Not as good as the third, but much better than the first two seasons.

I thought the point of the Sherlock references was to demonstrate how different the characters are, despite superficial similarities (intelligent, quirky, aloof adventurers who are drawn to mysteries). The Eleventh Doctor is much more openly fond of people and, despite fits of 'sulkiness', is more interested in
