I started being an atheist when I was a little kid and I was thinking "these are nice stories but they're obviously not real". This episode was more a slight turn-off because it was in some ways a bit too "yay God".

As a European I found this episode a bit too Sunday School preachy, but back when this episode was made America was even more God-fearing, so I can let it pass (it had it's moments).

I feel Birthright part 2 was also a weak Worf episode. As you say we learn he can't get past his racism against Romulans, we learn that he can't understand that there is more to Klingons than simple "warrior's honour" even though he himself is a Starfleet officer raised on Earth and that Klingon society is made up of
