Is there evidence that all Econowives are barren? I was under the impression that some would still be fertile.

Not just that but the vanity. Why would they let her shave her legs at all? They supposedly aren't allowed lotion or chapstick, either, so why is shaving ok?

Internalized misogyny at it's finest. Never forget the eagerness of women willing to throw other women under the bus for their own benefit.

I've been asking the same question about Nick. To me, he's so creepy, and there's nothing interesting about him. This ep just makes him even worse, with his passiveness and jealousy about 'his' woman being raped by the commander. Wah. Poor baby. (That was my reading of it.)

I know that I definitely have to keep suspending my disbelief for the 'takeover of America.' If anything, I think there would be a bunch of fractured states, with Gilead being merely one of them. Of course, set the story there, as that's the story that Atwood wanted to tell: critiquing religious fundamentalism, real

I'm neurotypical and sometimes subtlety is lost on me. That said, I do get annoyed with obvious writers that need to bash me over the head with a point. Not that I've seen that in this series. I guess what's obvious to some is subtle to others.

To deter suicide.

Gotta disagree on the June/Nick thing. Yuck. Gross. Barf. This is probably because I think Nick is creep-tastic due to his weird movements, staring, standing too closely, and stalking. I was repulsed when she went to him willingly. Ew ew ew.

Not at all. I get into plenty of disagreements and discussions, it can be quite thrilling. No, in this case it's much more personal—a topic few understand and fewer even care to. I've been through enough discussions that disregard my humanity and my experiences to even want to try to discuss it here. I'm just not

No. I thought it was pretty weak and unbelievable, although I still like the series. This ep just fell flat for me. I don't feel safe enough to talk about it here, though.

I don't want your fever dream fantasies. I want action. I want you to not be apathetic about politics and policies made about people who aren't you. I want you to stand up for the women around you, whether you like them or not and call out other men to treat them better, whether it's stopping catcalling, sexist
