watch your mouth mr knox :) kahler jex and his gunslinger are two of my fave characters. The themes of mercy and redemption are played out wonderfully through those characters.

I think nate/cop guy seriously wanted annalise to leave him alone and focus on her marriage. He obviously regrets getting caught up with annalise's "kind of crazy". He believes she has some fatal attraction issues so lied to her about Sam's innocence to sorta steer her back to hubby and away from him.
