Eh… That doesn't really work for me, because the rest of the movie is so sternly set in realism. None of the dreams (or whatever) are posited in terms that ask you to consider them as reality up to that point. They're always clearly portrayed as, realistic as they may be, separate from reality, and therefore the cause

Well, it's an awesome movie up until the end. I'm not crazy about how it suddenly abandons its sensitive, haunting and absolutely serious treatment of the fears of mental illness in the final scene to offer up a dumbass "chicken little was right all along" twist. Not that I would mind seeing a movie about somebody

Eh, as soon as BB opened his mouth I turned it off because it didn't sound right. I'm sure Vogel's a great guy, of course, and I hope kids don't notice/care about the difference. But it threw me in half a second.

Maybe In My Back Yard. The wafflingest protest movement ever.

What aspect ratio was this supposed to be? The series showed shots variously in 2.35 and 1.77.

Yeah, he was more than willing to spend oodles on getting TCW to look pretty much perfect. The fact that they were even rendering it in 2.35 was a big thing, too. This show, eh.

I was going to reply to this, but now that I see this is a comment to something I wrote 4 month ago, I just think it's hilarious.

Man. Just saw this at Film Forum. Couldn't agree/disagree more. Soundtrack was great, yeah. But the visuals floored me, too. Great piece of full on avant garde abstract filmmaking. Gotta see it again.

If Liza Weil isn't in this, I will not even think about watching it.

As I'm going to listen to the audio book version, all this sounds just peachy to me.

I've begun watching How to Get Away With Murder just to imagine this is Paris' career as a paralegal or whatever.

Bigger question— is this an implication that they're getting Michael J. Anderson to return? There were rumblings that Lynch didn't want him back for personality reasons or something…

I wasn't expecting that Matt Damon would die in the film. But I was kinda thinking it might be possible for one or two on the crew who go out to rescue him might bite it. Knowing that doesn't happen does kinda make me less jazzed to see it.

I always hoped Kalinda could get a spin-off. Maybe it wouldn't really work well, but after how she was railroaded off the show, I'd take anything really.

Sometimes the snow falls down in June.

Is this still reported to be the last season? Because I'm surprised we aren't hearing that more often.

Okay. So Mabel's sweater this time.

Really? Because it feels a lot longer. And I like the chariot race. But it feels. So. Damn. Long. It's the best damn part of the movie, and it feels like forever.

So does the Ben Hur race. I'd put it ahead of that, at least.

The problem with all these terms is they're all really incredibly subjective. I personally couldn't even dream of calling a movie poorly directed and also say it has engaging set pieces. Sometimes that's all it takes for me to like a movie. Heat, for instance, really drags an incredible amount throughout, and has some
