I think I'm done engaging with you too.

Normally everyone here is so chill. I wonder what The Colonel is like when arguing about Star Trek.

Man, this is the most combative thread of conversations I've had on the AVclub since I suggested the Queen might not deserve that giant amount of money she has.

Because lobsters are naturally animals that live right on the shorefront? The point is, you don't fucking know, and neither did the people on the news report I saw doing it.

"These are not the actions of someone who's actually concerned for animal welfare"

Is that a tentacle, or are you just… oh god, no! It is a tentacle!

It's harder than you'd think. My friend had to call the cops more than once to be allowed into a place with her animal.

Squid actually do have a small bone in their bodies, I think.

I've known plenty of people, including myself, that try to minimize the amount of meat they eat for environmental reasons, for animal welfare reasons, and for health reasons.

All I'm hearing is "Why don't we focus exclusively on the issues that matter to me, and ignore the bad things that PETA members do, and the shitty behavior that they encourage, because this goal is super important."

Maybe if we're tremendous dicks to everyone, factory farming will stop!

*sigh* We're never getting more Metalopaklypse are we?

I really wonder if Dawkins' wife talks with him at all, or if his life is just an endless series of men's clubs with scotch and laughter at what these women must do in their spare time.

So, killing and eating a lobster is worse than some hippy killing a lobster by trying to save it?

ACT UP did a lot of good, but they also threw out a lot of crap science too, which they'll acknowledge now wasn't helpful at all. They just needed to feel like they were doing something.

Enjoy that murder sandwich, fuckface

You can have an organization for animal rights that doesn't include the people that harass handicapped people. And in fact, there are plenty, right?

The difference is that there are laws against animal abuse. Do you think having a service animal is animal abuse? It's certainly not been the case with what I've seen of it.

If someone sets an animal free, they should at least have the decency to do it in way that's not fucking stupid and gets the animal killed.

Richard Dawkins once offered to bless our cats once. But that's probably about as close as I've gotten.
