Expected more from it though. At NYCC, Jim mentioned we'd 'learn more about his creator', & how it 'is similar to The Machine. How he turns him into a human machine to do his bidding'.

'The ends justify the means.'
This sorta breaks it down. https://www.reddit.com/r/Pe…
Understand your frustration. I liked it a hell of a lot more than the Reese one last week (which was almost a complete waste of time). But I think this sort of thing is done, with around Episode 7 (the procedural backdrop that is; though the plots seem solid; the missing person's aspect will be explored right away in…
Wow. That's quite the possibility, which is kinda doable. Thanks for sharing. Thought they'd try an Inception-esque story where they try to take it out from within (using Finch's Trojan Trigger from S4's Skip), but this is much more in tone with the show.
Probably.
Absolutely. With the kind of technology running rampant, there's no dearth of material for the show to draw from. But given the amount of crap they've been given over the years, best they end it with this final run (& maybe pick it up later somewhere down the line; anything's possible, right?)
After last night's masterpiece, anything would've been hard to follow (though this was originally shot as the fourth episode). Though this had certain issues, I did enjoy it very much.
Like Oprah giving out free cars.
I'd be okay if they left it hanging, but good of them to wrap it up.
'VAGENDA'. :)
I understand your concern. Not a big fan of him either, but I think they can make it work. And because it sets up the 100th episode, think they'd find a substantial way to sell this.
Not to mention the fact that Lucas O'Connor, who co-wrote this one, also did SNAFU (502). By the time he returned from filming that, he'd have to have finished the script as it would've been prepped when 5x03 was rolling, which is concurrent with post-production on number 2, which every writer on the show is…
Perspective shifted there a few times. Like the scenes with Special Counsel & Shaw's handler Wilson or with Hersh or Root. Or the bit with Fusco, Carter, & Leon. Very few, but they were there.
Understandably so.
Great to hear from you again, brother.
What's to say they won't utilize what happened here later? There's still 9 more episodes to go after all. The opening scene of 5x01 had the subway demolished. Though it isn't very likely, what if Shaw did break eventually, & led Samaritan to this?
Okay, here goes.
Production-wise, this was the seventh episode. She had already worked on both 5 & 6 (and probably parts of 4, as well; the one that'll air tomorrow).
And from a visual perspective, it's awfully trippy as well. Wonderfully shot.
