Transvestites killed by the Nazis were all either gay or Jewish. The idea that people were targetted for being trans in the modern sense when the concept was unheard of at the time is ridiculous.

I follow a Twitter account that details the life of one Jewish holocaust victim each day. It will take 16 thousand years for them to list them all. A similar account documenting trans victims of the Nazis would be finished by Tuesday.

I listened to a good few episodes until I got to one that I actually knew a bit about already, and they made some very basic errors. And it turned out the same was true for other episodes I didn’t know anything about. Hobbes styles himself as a debunker but he's way too sloppy to make listening worthwhile.

Terf didn’t start off as a pejorative, it was just a descriptor for feminists who organise their activism around the reality of how females are treated by society.

This will sound insensitive, but I can’t help rolling my eyes when I read about how another movie/ tv show/ game is going to explore grief/ trauma/ mental health. Just feels like there have been a lot of them over the last 6 or 7 years, and what was once brave and different is now hackneyed.

I’m gay too, and to be honest I don’t think it’s a particularly exaggerated view of gay people protesting, at least not compared to some of the pride and marriage equality protests I’ve attended.

He doesn’t do comedy shows though, he does shows designed to make middle class, largely white audiences feel good about feeling bad, with the odd joke thrown in.

His video is so weird. He’s not actually contradicting anything in the New Yorker piece. Bizarre. 

Every article about this has this same comment, usually more than once. It's such a dumb take, like you can't possibly think what people are taking issue with is the idea of standups embellishing their stories?
