$300,000 worth of equipment for $30,000

I consider myself a jack of all trades, but I still specialize as a computer tech. I think it's very beneficial in life and saves money. I've fixed my own car, upgraded it, built shelves for home, replaced faucets, wall mounted TVs, plant flowers and veggies, etc. I don't know how you'd classify my knowledge. My wife

Quite possible, I didn't have the sound cranked up since I'm at work.

And if you think that his high-downforce car is easy to drive, that is just stays glued to the road... watch this.

Here are some shots I took a while back from my WRX. You can customize what data is displayed or the length of time that it logs certain data.

Your argument is the exact reason why there's debate over adding seat belts to school buses. Any way, think of optional safety features as insurance. You pay for insurance for your car, not because you intend to get into an accident but because it could happen. If this system reduces or prevents injury and is within

Yup, I custom ordered my WRX and waited about two months from ordering to arrival.

Yeah, I hate that too. Such a pain that I just made voice entries for only my wife and my dad. With my current phone (Lumia 1520) on my current car (2015 WRX) if the phone is less than a foot away from the head unit, voice commands and conversation over the phone is garbled but music from Pandora plays just fine. On

Pair your phone as a Bluetooth device and not as a phone. Unless you car doesn't allow that, but mine does. I would think it should allow that.

So why not make your system updateable. How hard would it be to make updates installable via USB or CD (if equipped)? How many of us update our phones, Blu-ray players, etc. Is it that much to ask for firmware updates for our car stereos.

Actually USB specs allow for different power profiles with a maximum of 5.0 A, 100 W.

My wife's XV Crosstrek is CVT and I honestly can't complain about it. It did feel a little weird at first when it would hold a certain RPM for a bit, but it performs just fine.

That's sucks, both your experience and with the GTI. You're in a tough spot at that age because of other reckless young adults, which is why insurance is also more expensive for that age bracket. I bought my first WRX at age 23 and at age 38 on my 3rd WRX. Maybe you'll snag one the next time around.

Neutral: Would You Buy A Subaru? If you were in the market for a new car would you at least cross-shop it?

Unless you need something only the STI offers (e.g. DCCD), save a few thousand and get a premium or limited WRX. You can then spend some of the money you saved on a COBB Access Port. You'll have 290.7 peak horse power and a torque peak of 279.9 lb-ft.

Kind of. The 2009 had a 2.5l whereas the 2015 eked out a few more HP on just a 2.0l engine. The STI as mentioned is what really needs a power bump, the WRX has gotten pretty close to it in horse power and the STI has remained unchanged in that department since 2008, sitting at 305HP.

Well my 2015 has more power (268) than my 04 had (227) while also getting much better fuel economy than the old ones did. But I'm with you, give me more power!

Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4

I'd be down with a front plate if they were thin euro plates that didn't block part of the radiator or oil cooler or intercooler.

It's an impossible dream, but wouldn't it be great if there was a global safety standard set for cars?
