And the 4motion system comes on lower market cars sin other parts of the world. Its not anything special.
yes.
My '03 got around 40 before the turbo kit and injectors :) It still would if you stay out of the throttle, but its hard to do with 300 ft/lbs!
Looking forward to it! I really enjoy your contributions here. I work on government military contracts but don't get to learn much about the systems as a whole, with your posts I get to nerd out without ever having to leave Jalopnik for aviationweek. At least until you get a job at aviationweek...
The new R's get crazy MPGs though. Almost 30. Which is what my tuned TDI gets.
Holy fucking shit I would buy one of these tomorrow. i wonder what a dealership would give me for trade-in on a 2003 TDI in awesome shape... I have been looking for something with a larger rear seat and headroom!
Great photo BTW. I work in the defense industry, on many aviation platforms; unfortunately I never get to see them in action. That video of the F16s in Death Valley made me "totes jelly". I need to go to more airshows.
Also revealed is that the SRT name is not going away, at least not permanently. Having the SRT division as a low-volume performance car nameplate separate from Dodge or Chrysler can help with some loopholes for overall fleet MPG and emission requirements. So don't give up on the SRT name just yet, and don't listen to…
I like that one....
40mpg is no longer better than similar gas cars. Hell, the new Golf R is rated for low 30's! I get about 36 in my tuned TDI, that makes it not worth it if I can have a super performance car AND get decent mpgs.
I really wanted it to turn right off that cliff!
Wrong TLS Syndrome, or WTS for short. (I hate the multiple nested acronyms the most; I worked on program that was nested three deep.)
