One of my 7th graders is obsessed with Jake Paul. Yesterday I had them just write for 15 minutes at the start of class (I also told them they could draw and explain to me what they drew).

But he’s not an engineer. He hasn’t done the professional work to be an engineer. Getting a Bachelors degree doesn’t make you “that thing.”

It’s an urban area thing. In Orange County where I’m from (or suburban San Diego area where I lived recently), you don’t need to buy something or use a code. But I live in LA now and there are codes at the Starbucks around here so that homeless folks don’t use the restrooms—particularly so they won’t bathe in them.
