Sorry, but y’all are just rude af. The entirety of my mother’s family is from the East Coast (New York and Philly, with some now in Rhode Island), so I understand the culture, and there is a place for it in my heart. I value the bluntness and the sarcasm, I really do. It’s part of my soul and my DNA.

No thanks. Don’t need to hear them essentially say that it’s okay for those guns to be used on innocent people in other countries.

I mean, marijuana is legal here. But those videos are still subject to removal.

Now I’m mad at PornHub. Was that the proper reaction? GOTTA LOOK FOR MATERIAL SOMEWHERE ELSE...but it’s fine. I’ve been on Tumblr for a thousand years. I know where the good stuff is.

I wish I could give you a gold star instead of a blue one, but it’s all I have.

Speaking as a teacher, the reason they do not want students to leave is a safety issue. Schools are liable for students during the hours they are at school. If a student walked out and got hit by a car, the school and district could be sued. And as a teacher, you would feel like shit that your student got hurt when

Is this the hill on which you choose to die?

I didn’t know I needed this

People can hide things. There are online programs. And I’d say a solid 99% of teacher ed programs don’t do anything to unpack their students’ biases, or to even determine what those biases are in the first place. It’s not required. It’s repulsive and disturbing because the teacher workforce is about 80% white women

“Proper environment” “doesn’t value education”

I found that curious (read: stupid), as well. Why put the links in there to give her more traffic? C’mon, Splinter.

Your reliance on dictionaries is cute. Dictionaries aren’t the end all be all, and are not reliable for definitions, especially when dealing with a socially constructed concept. It’s the same reason why the dictionary definition of racism is useless and yet often favored by white people.

Literally all I’m hearing is white tears.

These dictionary definitions of racism that lead white people to think that racism can actually be perpetuated against them have been pissing me off for years. I’ve had quite enough.

Cracker isn’t a racial slur though, so goodbye with all that.

It might hurt their feelings, it’s just not a big deal because well...they have all the power.

I’m a student teacher in LA, and a student of my guiding teacher came in last week to ask for help because ICE tried to raid her mom’s work (garment industry). The managers gave ICE all the info on the workers but wouldn’t let them in. So they’re coming back tomorrow. My guiding teacher was reviewing with the student

Agreed. A good newspaper doesn’t cater to audiences or abandon actual good journalistic practices to appeal to an audience.

If you constantly reinforce in everything you do to love other humans and to never assume that you are better than others–that the most important thing you can do is respect the existence of another person, to listen, to care...that is very unlikely to happen, so don’t worry.

I 100% admit that I have a problem with centrists. Centrism helps no one but the dominant group. That has literally always been the case. Centrism does nothing for those of us on the margins; our lives stay at the same level of fucked, at best, or worsen.
