PLEASE FIX THE NOTIFICATIONS!
Am I the only person who rolled my eyes through the whole last episode? Half an hour of “Iron Man 2"-style place-setting, all in the laziest tell-don’t-show way possible (though Majors did what he could with it). I’m not exactly chomping at the bit to see him - or a Variant, presumably - in Quantumania.
Can’t be in your 20s forever.
Back off Boogaloo.
Also, have to concede, they used “It Don’t Come Easy” on The Simpsons for a reason as well.
George was the coolest Beatle in the same way that John Paul Jones was the coolest member of Led Zep despite (or perhaps because of) everyone else in those respective bands getting more attention. It’s just one of those unassailable music facts.
You bastard. From reading your first sentence I was poised to respond that Photograph is a pretty good song, and then you throw that in right at the end.

The Stones > Beatles crowd were in last week. You missed them
Counterpoint though, ebony and ivory, the girl is mine, frog chorus, all of Give my Regards to Broad Street.
I like Beato’s channel simply because if he didn’t find music he would have had a long career creating click-bait titles for places like Buzzfeed.
Why are you not interested in the “Peter Jackson thing??”
Director’s cut.
I love this youtube channel. really great for unlayering all the instrumentation in beatles songs!
I hope nobody gets mad that I’m asking for a spoiler, but in which episode do they do the deep dive breakdown of “Spies Like Us”?
To be fair, it’s one song where it’s hard not to pay most of your attention to the guitars, by design.
This aligns with my frequently expressed opinion that the Beatles are under-rated. All the other stuff over shadows the mind-blowing invention in their musical evolution.
As far as living songwriters with catalogs varied enough compositionally and worth unpacking thematically, it’d be Nick Cave and Elvis Costello for me, but struggling to think of more off the dome that could sustain a series of that length.
